Grammy winner Esperanza Spalding is back with a visual for "Black Gold" featuring Algebra Blessett. Also, J. Cole and Nicki Minaj participated in a web series about their road to the Grammys. Watch both inside.....
Eclectic jazz songstress Esperanza Spalding had just dropped a visual for "Black Gold", the vivacious first single from her upcoming album, Radio Music Society (due March 20th). The song is a triumphant testimony of empowerment and features guest vocals from neo-soul songbird Algebra Blessett.
Talking about her new album, Esperanza said,
"Originally I thought it would be fun to release a double album. One disc with an intimate, subtle exploration of chamber works and a second one in which jazz musicians explore song forms and melodies that are formatted more along the lines of what we would categorize as "pop songs." Those are the two things that really interest me, and it intrigues me to think about different presentation approaches while writing each kind of song."

J. Cole and Nicki Minaj, who are both competing for Best New Artist at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards on February 12, recently participated in video series by Pepsi and Pandora about their road to the Grammys.
J.Cole shared,
“Being the first artist signed to Roc Nation, there’s a lot of pressure that rides on it, a lot of expectations. That’s how I work, I work off motivation. I’m about to really kill the game ’cause I’m prepared.”
And Nicki revealed,
“I’m not going to be nervous about winning ’cause I really don’t think I’m gonna win anything. “I know eventually in my career I’m gonna have Grammys. This year is just about being nominated and feeling grateful.”
